There are many developments at SZSSW. We have expanded our practice to provide services in many areas new to the firm.
You may have heard of some of the cases we are handling. Jeffrey Zucker and Saul Steinberg are currently defending Carolyn Correa who is accused of kidnapping a child and raising her as her own. This case has attracted international attention and the facts and circumstances are just becoming known. While we cannot comment on the nature of the defense, we are making sure that the interests of our client, consistent with the interests of justice, will be served.
Another of our members was co-counsel for the defense in the case of State of New Jersey vs. James Andros. Our client was accused of murdering his wife and the accusation was premised upon the cause of death opinion rendered by the Atlantic County Medical Examiner. The defense engaged the services of Michael Baden, a well -respected forensic pathologist, who disputed the cause of death evidence and whose opinion led to the dismissal of the indictment.
David Sufrin is involved as co-counsel in several class action lawsuits. These include cases of price fixing and anti-trust violations. The industries involved include members of the Gasoline Retail Dealers Association and several elevator manufacturers. He is also representing individual plaintiffs’ claims of securities fraud.
Dennis Wixted recently successfully defended a young man who was charged with murder, aggravated manslaughter and lesser offenses. The jury found that our client, James Kennedy, was not guilty of any of the charges.
The volume of our Worker’s Compensation Practice, headed by Paul Sonstein, has increased tremendously. We are handling Worker’s Compensation cases in all of South Jersey, including Camden, Gloucester, Atlantic, Cumberland, Salem and Cape May Counties.
We have also begun to provide service to Vietnam Veterans who have become afflicted with conditions including Type II diabetes and prostate cancer. These veterans, as well as veterans from the Gulf wars, can be eligible for compensation for these and other conditions.
Another area of practice in which we have become involved is the representation of persons who have suffered severe side effects or conditions related to the administration of a vaccination. There is a federally administered fund that provides compensation for some of the consequences of adverse reactions to vaccines.
Paul, David and Saul are also involved in providing more services to our business and real estate clients. We are currently involved in some very exciting real estate development projects and hope to announce the progress of these ventures in the near future.
The lawyers in our firm have over a century of combined experience in all areas of litigation and practice as noted in the practice areas section of this site. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss practical solutions to your legal needs.
